So today my kids were home for a snow day. My eight-year-old daughter Jae was standing in the kitchen. I needed a hug, so I held my arms out for her to jump into. We have done this since she was born, but she refuses to stop growing, so......she is almost too big to fit in my arms.
When I set her down on the kitchen cabinet I looked at her and said in a sad voice:
What's gonna happen when you're too big for me to hold?
She replied in a no-nonsense voice:
I'll hold you when you're a little old lady.
I CRIED.
This reminds me of the children's book I'LL LOVE YOU FOREVER, by Robert Munsch. I dare you to make it through that book without any tears!
