Big Brother Blues

Poor Caleb.  He is really having a hard time coming to terms with the fact that his soon to be new-baby-sibling (or Baby Kick as he says) could in fact turn out to be a girl! He informed me last night that we only have room for 1 girl in the house. So, of course, I said what happens to your little sister if baby kick is a girl...his response..."Well I guess we'll have to sell Lilli on Amazon".

Lilli should start praying for a boy, I guess!

Business is Good in Pre-K

This morning Ms. Paula's Pre-k class was walking down the hall when they saw Mr. Kenny, the custodian, emptying recycle containers into a larger receptacle.  As they passed, Marley looked up and said "Hi, Mr. Kenny!  How's business?"

Let There be "Wight"

My least favorite part of fall/winter is watching the days get shorter.  I think my three-year-old friend Audrey would agree.

Audrey:  "Mom. I don't wike it dawk.   Make it wight."

Mom:  "I can't do that honey, only God can. If you want it light outside, tell Him."

Audrey:   "God, GOD, GOOOOOOOOOOOWD. I want it wight pwease. And I sing you a song. Jesus wuvs wittle chiwwin. Wed, Yewwow, black, white, piiiiiiink, and pwecious. De end".

Mom:  Oh my.......

Show and Smell

During a Pre-K show and tell circle Tucker brought a can of AXE chocolate scent.  After spraying the body spray for his classmates to smell, one classmate shared this thought:  "That smells like handsome!"

Winter Sports

My friend Paula is an AMAZING Pre-K teacher and even MORE AMAZING mom (if that's even possible) of  FIVE BOYS, three of which are still little and living at home.

She recently was talking to the boys about the sports they want to play this winter. Matthew wants to play indoor soccer as usual. Chase said he just really wants to take swim lessons.  Paula wasn't sure what Chevi would say. He played basketball last winter but has also talked about indoor soccer.

Paula:  "Chevi, are you wanting to switch to a new sport this Winter?"
Chevi: "Yah, Mom. I want to be a cage fighter!".
And then...he broke out into "cage fighter" moves.

Sadly, haven't seen Cage Fighting sign ups for ages 6 and under listed in the newspaper lately.

We've All Been There

Moms and dads, don't you hate it when your words come back to haunt you?

Corrine:  Mom, I need more milk.
Mom:  What do you say?
Corrine:  Can I have more milk, please?
Mom:  Good job. Bring me your cup.
Corrine:  You're supposed to say,  "Bring me your cup, please."

In a few short weeks three-year-old Corrine will start preschool.  I think she's ready!

Hats Imagination

Mom:  Corrine, where is your potty seat?
Corrine:  It's in my room.  I used it as a hat.
