My friend called today to ask if they could drop off some brownies her 11 year old daughter made for us. I happily said YES and checked the fridge to see if we had some milk. About twenty minutes later Kate and her little brother Max arrived with a batch of brown Es. They got us! Happy April Fool's Day!
Just about kids.....The sweet, funny, touching things they say and do that touch my heart.

Mother's ----Week
I have always thought--especially after I became one--that moms deserved more than a one-day celebration. In an effort to keep the Mother's Day celebration going, I would like to share Mandy's Mother's Day Card from her son Richard.
My mom's name is MOM. She is 16 years old and has BLUE eyes and Brown hair. Her favorite food is PIZZA. I love my mom because SHE IS NICE.
Okay Moms....What did Mandy like most about her amazing card? You guessed it....Richard says she is only 16!!! No wonder she always looks so fresh and beautiful!
Happy Mother's Week to all the hard-working moms I know and those I have yet to meet!

No Vacancy

I believe my friend missed her calling. Her official job is SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST. However, I believe she was meant to be a party planner. Each time one of her kids has a birthday she goes ALL OUT. I know...I know...you may be thinking, "Big deal...so do I." But...I'm not talking about her wallet and major money spent. I'm talking about her brain and major creativity sent.
This year's theme for her third-grade daughter was HOTEL FOR DOGS. All 10 girls in Kate's class where invited to their hotel (house) for a 1 night stay. There were reservations, room keys, a vending machine (made out of a cardboard box) pulleys and contraptions for their dogs (stuffed animals).....
Did I mention Mom stays with the girls all night by herself and mans the party while dad takes the little brothers to Grandma's house for the night. This plan does not set well with Aiden. He told his Mom, "You mark my words...I will be staying at the hotel...mark my words!"

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DADDY
Today is my husband's birthday--Happy Birthday, Michael!
Both our girls left birthday love notes around the house for Dad with special window markers.
Jerilyn's message (18 years old): HAPPY BIRTHDAY, OLD MAN on the back window of his truck.
Jae's message (8 years old): Dad, thank you for being a magneficent Dad. P.S. I love u 899,221,59 million your favorite daughter Jae. on the bathroom mirror.
On his birthday card:
The "fight" continued on about who was the favorite daughter.
Jerilyn signed: Love, your favorite daughter.
Jae signed: Love, your really, really, really, real favorite daugther.
Dad said it was the best birthday ever, because he had never been fought over. He kinda liked it.
Meanwhile, 14-year-old brother, Jarrod, was growing impatient to eat icecream cake, so he went ahead and cut the cake BEFORE pictures---can you believe it?
It was a wild and crazy night, but Dad loved every minute of it.
